Stories from Belfair of Shawnee.

Since the day Dad moved to Belfair, he has had a smile on his face! You can tell the staff care about him and the other residents very much. They interact with him like he is part of their family. They are patient and always take the time to stop and talk to him. It is so comforting to see him so happy and “at home” here.

All of your team members are very helpful, very aware of resident needs, and offer quick response. They are all very caring. Please thank them all!

I moved both of my parents to Belfair of Shawnee over the past year. After having them in other assisted living centers, I can tell you that Belfair of Shawnee is a breath of fresh air. From the time you enter the front door and throughout, the numerous, friendly, well-trained and competent staff will have you and your loved one in great hands. I don’t have to worry about my parents.

Mom has gone on many outings with other residents and she enjoys the activities and socializing. She has always been an introvert so it’s good to see her interacting with others.

The meals are fantastic with a menu of many great choices and daily specials. Dad is diabetic and this is the first place that has been able to keep him on a special diet. He enjoys the food, but is a picky eater, and the dining team knows all his likes and dislikes. My dad loves it and comments how the dining room is just like a wonderful restaurant.

It’s also great to see that the rooms are well-furnished and all the maintenance is taken care of. The entire building is very clean. Overall I couldn’t be happier with Belfair of Shawnee and the safe, beautiful place that my parents each call home.

Dad is well-cared for at Belfair of Shawnee. Prior to Belfair, he led a very sedentary life. Now he walks to the dining room three times a day, participates in outings such as the baseball games in Bricktown, and joins in on the country western sing-alongs. The team members at Belfair are so kind, compassionate AND experienced in serving memory care residents. I do not worry about Dad’s care, and that is very reassuring!

The care and support every resident, family member and friend feels when they walk through the doors of Belfair of Shawnee is amazing. The entire community is filled with warmth and love, and I would trust no one as much as I do the staff at Belfair to care for my mom.

My mom (Margie Carter) has been at Belfair for about a month now. She is 94 and in good physical health for her age. However, her short-term memory loss requires a need for constant guidance throughout each day. I am impressed by the structure included at Belfair for each resident. I have noticed the opportunity for involvement in arts and crafts, physical exercise, music, and Sunday worship services. The nursing staff is attentive and insightful toward the needs of their residents. Extended family and friends are met with a warm and welcoming environment to visit loved ones. My mom recently spent a couple of days in the hospital and when she returned, she felt as though she was loved and missed by the staff, as well as the residents. I have peace of mind and comfort knowing she is treated with love, dignity, and respect each day.

I volunteer at Belfair of Shawnee on a regular basis. The staff is very friendly and attentive to the needs of the residents in the community. In my opinion, Belfair of Shawnee provides a much needed service to our community. It is a homelike atmosphere where the residents' specific needs are met by highly qualified staff. The activities are designed with the preferences and abilities of the residents in mind. Belfair of Shawnee focuses on what the residents can do. I have seen staff members regularly use positive reinforcement with the residents. Each week I look forward to volunteering at Belfair of Shawnee. I can only hope I bring the residents half as much joy as being able to help them brings me.
